“How can ‘Whistling(individuals, silence, poetic speech)’ defeat ‘Typhoon(facism, extremism, loud voice)’?”
After becoming realized myself as a 'spectator' to the world, I combine this and that in my head. I love flowing between the fact and misunderstanding which resemble to the destiny as a human being, under postcolonial state(The reason I am working with multi-media including painting, drawing, moving images and installation). I am into recovering the myths. The results are writing, drawing, painting, objects, and moving images. They are connected in the process of thinking as an archive of memory(My, yours, ours). I talk about moving existences, the people who remain, the invisible crises of others in today’s world, and things in marginalized areas in a distracted way. I consider we are the beings captivated by the system like capitalism. “Make holes in it, then, you will feel miserable, painful.” I have been focusing on how the sound works in our daily lives. We hear about rumors, disasters and they affect our emotions, that means we are not just spectators, but involved. Even the silence is a type of sound in this context. The rumor doesn't have a body, but it is still very powerful. I consider the same process works in art as well. I trace what turns facts into rumors and use that as a medium. The reason I am interested in other people and the outside world is
because, “I hope to know you, although it always fails, at least, and last I can imagine us.
Remember we are extinguishing.”
